Brugge is a medieval city and the name is actually pronounced differently depending if you are Dutch or French. The 'g' becomes softer if you are saying it in French and it is a hard 'g' for Dutch. Just a little fun fact for you.
I know everyone suggests that you go for a canal ride in Brugge. They are not just saying that! I think you should make it a priority in Brugge because it is a nice way to relax and see the city.
